🧾 Ingredients in This Recipe
Lavender – I’m using fresh lavender flowers which you can find at the grocery store. Dried lavender will also work, but my preference is for fresh.
Sugar – You can make this syrup with almost any sugar available. I would recommend granulated or cane sugar for ease, but this recipe also works with turbinado, brown sugar, or even honey. Note that a darker sugar will give the syrup a darker flavor.
Vanilla Extract – This is an option addition to make this simple syrup even better. The warm sweet flavor of the vanilla extract complements the floral lavender perfectly.

I like to add a dash of lavender simple syrup to my Earl Grey tea. The bergamot in the tea tastes incredible with the floral lavender flavor.
👩🍳How to Make This Recipe
Add the sugar and water to a large saucepan. Next, turn the heat to medium, and stir until all the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the syrup come to a light simmer, but not a rolling boil.
Once all sugar is dissolved, remove the syrup from the heat. Add the flowers from two stems of fresh lavender (3 tablespoons fresh or 2 tablespoons dried) and optional vanilla extract. Let steep for one hour.
Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the lavender out of the syrup.
Transfer your lavender simple syrup to a sealed container and keep in the refrigerator until ready for use. Keeps for up to 1 month.

Cocktail or mocktail mixers: This simple syrup works double duty to provide delicious lavender flavor and sweetness to your alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. It’s great with bubbly water and some lemon.

Use a nut milk bag to make sure you get all the lavender out.
