Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Lovers of Green Goddess describe it as tasting creamy, tangy, fresh, and herby. It’s got all the richness of the mayonnaise and sour cream with some acidity from the lemon juice. Then the parsley, tarragon, and chives add that freshness and slight bitterness to complement the dairy.

This recipe recreates that taste but with vegan ingredients. The combination of herbs and dairy makes it a very creamy and fresh dressing.

Ingredients & Substitutions

To whip up your vegan dressing, and an optional accompanying salad, these are the ingredients you will need: vegan mayonnaise, scallions, basil, orange juice, garlic, ponzu, salt, and pepper.

These are the standard ingredients, but everyone can feel free to add their own twist or variation.

How to Make Creamy Basil Citrus Dressing

The only step to making the vegan dressing is to combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender (link to Amazon opens in new tab). Mix them until they form a smooth dressing.

Here is my favorite way to serve this dressing. Toss together the little gem lettuce, segmented blood orange, pickled mustard seeds, toasted pumpkin seeds, and radishes. Dress the salad liberally with your fresh vegan dressing, and it’s ready to serve!
