CHAROSET for passover

For passover, charoset is on the seder plate along with:  maror (horseradish), karpas (greens like parsley) zeroah (shank bone), beitzah (egg)  and matzo

WHAT YOU NEED

walnuts red wine apple lemon orange juice salt dates cinnamon cloves nutmeg

your walnuts until finely ground

PULSE

pitted dates, orange juice, wine, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, lemon juice, pinch of salt, and a peeled and diced Granny Smith apple to a saucepan

ADD

date mixture until most of the liquid is absorbed and the apples begin to soften, ~8mins

COOK

mixture in the food processor until it forms a loose paste

BLEND

date mixture into the walnuts

FOLD
