Mix 1.5 cups of milk and a pinch of salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring milk to a low boil.
Add oats to milk and simmer together for 3-5 minutes. The oats will absorb the milk.
In the meantime, whisk 3-4 tablespoon of water into the matcha powder. You can sift the matcha into the bowl to help remove clumps. Set aside.
Froth the remaining ¾ cups of milk. Gently stir it into the oatmeal with the brown sugar and remove it from the heat.
Pour in the double shot of whisked matcha, stir to gently mix, and split into two mugs or cups of your choice.
Notes
* You don't need any grade higher than culinary-grade matcha powder for this recipe.** A pinch of salt complements and enhances the sweet flavors in the recipe, but you can leave it out if you'd like.
*** You can also sweeten this latte with white sugar, honey, agave, or any other sweetener of your choice.
